Expats Working in India Now Need To Apply For Aadhaar Card

In an announcement which has major implications for Expats working in India, the government has made it mandatory for expatriates to apply for an Aadhaar card if they are paying income tax and have worked or stayed for more than 182 days in the preceding 12 months.

This means that Expats have to pass through another hoop and according to tax experts there is some ambiguity surrounding this announcement and clear instructions and clarification needs to be given about the whole process, especially for those expats who have already left India but still have to pay taxes in India.
